Corfu - Odysseus Adventure (in Paleokastritsa) / approx 4 1/2 hrs
This superb day out is a must for all water lovers!
Leaving Paleokastritsa harbour about 13.10 pm o’clock in the afternoon, aboard our boat, we head off to visit the magnificent old caves which line the coast.
One of them is named after the Greek Hero Oddyseus, who according to Greek mythology spent some time there as well. During our 1 hour sail you will see all the “PEARLS” of the West coast, beautiful unspoiled nature, wild cliffs, secluded beaches, where instead of the crowds of people only the seagulls great you.
The best of all is the most crystal clear and turquoise blue water you have ever seen. From the first caves we head towards Liapades, where the scenery is spectacularly green and the beaches are obtainable only by boat and the waters crystal clear.
Here we visit the largest cave on Corfu “The Shipwreck” or “Vinti” as it is known which runs 180 meters into the mountain. Its name derives from 1940 when a German warship sank here.
It is a breath taking experience to see in the cave and observe bats asleep hanging from above. Continuing our cruise, we speed across to the tiny island of “Omiros’ or as
otherwise known, “The stone ship of Odysseus”.
At the end we’ll see the cave called “ blue eye”. Local people believe if you see the blue eye in the water, it means good luck for you. More time for swimming in the fantastic beach.
After this memorable journey back in time 15.30 pm (16.00 pm) , you will have free time in the Resort of Paleokastritsa before returning by couch to the Port.
This is a half day out and lasts approx 4 hours.
