Day 02: Saturday ISTANBUL/TURKEY (B. L. D.) (Arrival 15:00h / Departure -)
Located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey combines the history and culture of an ancient land with the development and progress of the modern world. Turkey offers both the excitement of its cities and archaeological sites and the natural beauty of its colourful landscape. It has also played extensive roles in the development of human civilization and the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religions. Whether you visit for the extensive history, superb food, hand-made crafts, or simply to relax, Turkey will leave you breathless with wonder. The city of Istanbul combines old world charm with modern day bustle. Once the capital of three different empires, Istanbul is now home to the fabulous art and architecture of past and straddling the continents of present. Situated on the Bosphorus Strait, the Golden Horn, and the Sea of Marmara, its many bazaars, churches, mosques, museums, and palaces will give even the seasoned traveller a mesmerizing experience.
Day 03: Sunday ISTANBUL/TURKEY (B. L. D.) (Arrival - / Departure 18:00h)
During your ship’s stay in Istanbul you will have several options for optional excursions.
Day 04: Monday MYKONOS/GREECE (B. L. D.) (Arrival 15:00h / Departure 24:00H)
Depending on the weather and the traffic in port, our ship either docks or anchors in front of Myconos port or nearby, at the cape of Tourlos. In the latter case, Mykonos City is reached by coach service. Mykonos, "the St. Tropez of Greece" is the place that many fashion designers and jewellers have chosen to expand their business. In fact, Mykonos is preferred by a wide range of tourists for its cosmopolitan night-life, the golden beaches and its proximity to the island of Delos which can be reached by boat in 30 minutes time. You can wander through the narrow and windy roads, see the windmills, the white little churches (there are about 365 churches in Mykonos) built by fishermen in thanksgiving for their safe return after a strong "meltemi" storm. Alternatively you can have a refreshing bath at one of the popular beaches of Plati Gialo, Agios Stefanos or Psarou, all accessible by local bus at a range of 6/7 kilometers away. All of them have changing facilities and small tavernas nearby, where you can enjoy a light meal by the sea. Or, visit the ancient sacred island of Delos.
Delos, once a Sacred Island , is the legendary birthplace of the Sun God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. For 500 years, tiny Delos was the religious & commercial hub of the entire Aegean . Today, the only remaining inhabitants are the keepers of its treasured ruins.
Day 05: Tuesday PATMOS/GREECE (B. L. D.) (Arrival 07:00h / Departure 10:30h)
This morning we arrive at Patmos, a holy island for the Christian religion.
It was here that John wrote the Book of Revelations during his exile by the Roman State. Optional tour to the Monastery of St. John and the Grotto. The cave where St. John lived is near the site of the Monastery of St. John, built on one of the island's highest points and houses priceless icons and manuscrips in its Treasury.
KUSADASI /TURKEY (B. L. D.) (Arrival 14:30h / Departure 20:30h)
Our next port of call is Kusadasi, is a lively Turkish port and the gateway to the ancient city of Ephessos, one of the most impressive ruins of the Biblical world! The castle of the Grand Master of the Knights and many other gothic places are still in remarkably good condition. SANTORINI /GREECE (B. L. D.) (Arrival 17:00h / Departure 21:00h)
Santorini is not easy to describe. Santorini is not comparable with any other Greek island. What makes it so different from any other island, is its imposing landscape, the caldera with its impressionistic contrast of colours, its terrifying birth.... It has been said that the sunsets in Santorini are the best in the world. From the Caldera breathtaking views of the volcano & neighbouring islands. From the east, miles of dark sandy or pebbled beaches. Everywhere one sees small domed churches and remnants of days gone by.
